Tau Anthropological Safaris
Adam Riley

Adam Riley has travelled extensively, leading birding and wildlife tours from Antarctica to Egypt, and Alaska to Papua New Guinea.

He is one of Africa’s most experienced birders, having seen over 2,000 species on the continent and close to 7,000 species worldwide. In October 2005 Adam bought his first camera to begin recording the sights on his adventures and as they say, the rest is history……

Together with Lee Gutteridge he is the co-founder of Tau Anthropological Safaris. Adam has grown up with a lifelong interest in wildlife, which evolved into a particular fascination with the birds, reptiles and amphibians and human cultures of Africa and Madagascar. Coming from a farming background in the Pietermaritzburg area of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, he studied accountancy and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has had his images in to high profile publications such as Africa – Birds and Birding, Handbook of Birds of the World, The African Bird Club Bulletin, Complete Photographic Guide to Birds of Southern Africa and Nightjars of the World. Adam also regularly conducts slideshow presentations for various interest groups.
